Route description

The initial Brest variant of 2023 reveals the region through rivers, forest roads and small historic ensembles. Starting in Brest, the journey heads through Zhabinka towards the Kobrin side and the Mukhavets crossing. The next road reaches the Pruzhany area, but this section’s appeal lies chiefly beyond the urban quarters: rural roads lead towards the Yaselda and old Lyskovo. Lyskovo’s church and Missionaries’ Monastery building stand close to the road. Slow down to notice the ensemble from outside: the surviving walls convey the town’s past without entering the ruins. The Zelvyanka and Ros follow. The northern arc touches the Porozovo outskirts, turns towards the forest Narew and reaches Shereshevo, where St Nicholas Church stands beside the village road. The Left Lesnaya and Bialowieza woodland sections connect Shereshevo with the Kamenets side. In old Kamenets, the ride becomes a brief encounter with town architecture: the former Ossovsky pharmacy columns and Vigutov merchant house invite a street stop. Through the Lesnaya and Chernavchitsy, with Holy Trinity Church facing the road, the initial arc returns towards Brest. This is a substantial independent journey for which permitted roads, rest and overnight accommodation should be agreed in advance.

Nearby

A thorough exploration of Kobrin’s centre, Pruzhany Palace, Porozovo’s centre, the Kamenets Tower museum and a cemetery stop at Franciszek Karpiński’s grave require separate approaches. The historic Porozovo control referred to a fuel station beside the road. Entry into monastery buildings, ruins, churches and merchant houses is separate from ordinary exterior stops. The former pharmacy is an architectural reference here, without assurance of present medicine sales. Internal Bialowieza programmes and former control shops do not establish current services. The May revision is presented as a separate route with its own connections.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Plan railway arrival with Brest Central as your reference. The platform is not the road circuit’s beginning: reaching the Aviatsionny Lane fuel station requires a separate urban approach. Check bicycle carriage and trains for your travel date when buying tickets. Agree the return and any intermediate departure with a bicycle from Pruzhany or Kamenets separately.
By car
The road beginning is beside Fuel Station No 17 at 20 Aviatsionny Lane. Check signs and the site’s rules for present approach and drop-off. Choose permitted road locations for support in advance, particularly within the border zone. A mapped road inside the park does not establish unrestricted vehicle access to a rest place.
Parking
Present parking has not been confirmed. Agree leaving a vehicle for the full outing and access after returning with the chosen parking owner. Do not treat the fuel station as checked long-stay parking. Additional State Border Committee requirements apply to sites within the border zone and need separate checking.

Difficult sections and safety

SurfaceAsphalt 79%, Paving stones 4%, Compacted dirt 4%, Unknown 11%.
Риски This outing is for an independent, prepared cyclist with working lights, food reserves and repair skills. Vehicle roads, railway crossings and late riding require attention; do not plan shortcuts across fields, railways or other people’s yards. In Bialowieza National Park, confirm access to the specific roads, stops and overnight places beforehand. Present permitted complete passage has not been established. The border zone is distinct from the border-strip regime. The State Border Committee requires a travel identity document and a pass from foreign visitors permanently living outside Belarus; citizens and residents have separate rules. The circuit itself crosses no international border. An exterior stop at Lyskovo Church does not establish safe conditions inside.

How much time to allow

A day-by-day plan for the multi-day outing is not established. Choose accommodation before departure, allocating the Pruzhany and Lyskovo approach, forest arc and Kamenets return according to preparation. The initial brevet had sporting control deadlines and a night finish closure; they do not establish visitor travel time. Allow for facades, food, sleep, repairs and agreed alternatives. Check late access to your Brest rest place beforehand.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Plan an independent ride in settled warm weather without snow or ice. The historic May date does not establish permanent permission on forest roads. Allow for wind in open rural areas, rain and surfaces in woodland, and cooler conditions after sunset. Riding beyond daylight needs reliable lights and a permitted stopping place chosen in advance.
