Route description

Beginning near the Naryn River around Kara-Suu, this journey leads towards the mountain side of Kazarman. It is a useful place to watch everyday village life give way to the country reached by summer herding roads. As the walk approaches the Kök-Art, the river valley becomes the dominant feature and helps make sense of the direction of travel. The Kazarman section gives you a chance to settle supply arrangements before continuing towards the upper Kök-Art approaches. The finish is in a mountain valley, rather than at accommodation or a scheduled transport stop. Choose this walk to connect the Naryn side with a further trek in the Fergana mountains, and arrange collection or onward travel before leaving.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
A scheduled service to the precise Kara-Suu start and the mountain finish has not been confirmed. Ask a local host about drop-off and collection. Establish how to reach Kazarman and how to leave the upper Kök-Art section before beginning the walk.
By car
Agree the initial approach around Kara-Suu near the Naryn River. Southern collection depends on the mountain road and the point a driver can actually reach. Leaving one car at the start does not settle the finishing logistics.
Parking
No dedicated parking place at the start has been confirmed. Agree multi-day storage with local hosts and keep village lanes and riverside access clear.

What to expect

Places
Naryn River The opening section lies near the Naryn valley before turning towards the Kazarman side. This stop refers to the particular riverside section, rather than the whole river.
Kök-Art River The river valley appears on the southern approach and accompanies the onward journey into the mountains. No safe swimming place or ford has been established.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1091 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски A village road does not guarantee an easy trek: later sections are remote and require careful navigation. Assess river flow and crossings locally. Rain can make banks and approaches unreliable. Carry reserve food rather than depending on hospitality in every settlement.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 12 h 44 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Plan around 2–3 days for the complete walk, with rest stops and an overnight place chosen in advance. Finishing in the upper valley requires arranged collection or extra time for an onward walk. No verified daily stage schedule exists for this exact itinerary.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Summer is preferable once the mountain road and onward exit have been checked. In July and August, check rain forecasts and river levels; begin early on hot days and carry sufficient drinking water. Fresh local reports are particularly important in spring and late autumn.
