Route description

This winter journey starts on the Galyamaki lake side, includes repeated outings towards the eastern mountain approaches, and continues through the Malaya Romanovka valley towards Esso. Rocky shores, open snow-covered country and lower woodland form distinct sections of a remote direction. A named hut stands on the lake side, with Letny Stan and the Uksichan riverside nearer the village. The park’s current list marks the winter route closed. Plan a journey only after a park reopening decision or individual approval for a prepared organised group. The initial lake portion belongs to a winter snowmobile version and requires an ice check; summer walking along the same passage is unconfirmed.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No data By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - Patchy This requires winter snowmobile arrangements; participation with a dog is unconfirmed. The park advises against the ordinary direction for children under fourteen and solo visitors. Do not rely on reception in the upper valley. The journey cannot start before access is confirmed.

Nearby

Krasnaya Sopka is a geographic landmark of the winter direction; its summit is not established as a visit here. Nyulki, Ikar and elevated viewpoints require separate checks and approaches. Black Castle and Ichinsky Volcano belong to other outings or possible distant views. Esso’s thermal pools, Chau-Chiv compound and Ethnographic Museum are outside the confirmed visits of this version.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Regular delivery to the remote lake start is unconfirmed. Arrange the winter journey in Esso, a separate permitted way to reach Galyamaki, and a meeting after finishing in the village. Reaching Esso independently does not resolve access to the initial side. Check intercity departures for your day separately.
By car
Base lower road arrangements on Esso. The ordinary park departure uses the Zarechnaya Street side, but this version begins at the lake and needs a separate agreed transfer. A private car cannot replace prepared winter transport or establish access through the mountain sections. Set drop-off and meeting arrangements before the journey.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Enquire in Esso while arranging the entire journey. Agree the initial transfer and the meeting after finishing separately.

What to expect

Places
Galyamaki Lake The lake portion of the winter direction among rocky slopes. Crossing the water area requires specific confirmation of ice conditions and permitted organisation; a continuous summer footpath is unconfirmed here.
Exterior site of Galyamaki hut A named landmark on the lake side. Enquire separately about access inside, warming up or staying overnight; passing the site does not include accommodation.
Malaya Romanovka valley The river side after the eastern mountain approaches, associated with the direction past Krasnaya Sopka. In winter, pay attention to snow-covered slopes and possible open water.
Letny Stan pavilion A lower woodland landmark on the return towards Esso. Its condition and shelter access depend on the season; use only an agreed stopping place.
Uksichan at Esso The river side on the final village approach. After the remote mountain sections, it marks a return to the inhabited valley.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1333 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски The central questions are lake ice, snowy pass approaches and the river valley. Open water, icing, poor visibility and avalanche hazards beside steep slopes are possible. Extended mountain outings still require confirmation of the permitted passage for the particular day. Travel as a prepared group with a guide, communication equipment and an assistance plan; the park must first resolve the current closure.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 21 h 18 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
The complete duration of the extended winter journey is unconfirmed. A day-by-day plan is not established. Agree timing for this possible multi-day organisation with the operator and park, including delivery to the lake, repeated mountain outings, stops and the Esso finish. Overnight access to the hut or another site is unconfirmed. The short timing of the ordinary snowmobile programme and the summer plan do not describe this entire version.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
The winter passport gives December–April, but the current list marks the direction closed. A suitable calendar month alone does not permit access. Check the park’s decision, snow and avalanche conditions, lake ice and the particular agreed passage. A summer walk towards the lake has different arrangements and does not establish this winter passage.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Prepared winter transport, warm windproof clothing and spare dry layers.
Agreed avalanche safety equipment and communication beyond mobile coverage.
Water, food, first aid, light and spare power for a remote journey.
Permission for the particular passage and checked registration with rescuers.
A separate plan for reaching the lake, stops and the Esso meeting; do not assume the hut is available.
