Route description

This Dygeren-Olengende outing begins on Esso’s Zarechnaya side and follows the Letny Stan and Nyulki woodland landmarks into the mountain valley. It then makes an upper circuit beside the volcano’s summit side. After time in the open mountain surroundings, the path descends towards Alpine Shelter and ends there. A separate return to Esso remains, so include the outing in an agreed wider trekking plan. It suits walkers interested in the gradual change from an inhabited valley to higher mountain terrain.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - With caution With a dog - With caution By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - Patchy Suitable for experienced walkers prepared for remote trekking and a mountain ascent. The park advises against this direction for children under twelve. Keep dogs leashed and assess the upper side separately. Occasional reception does not replace an independent return plan.

Nearby

Dygeren’s exact highest point is near the upper circuit, but separately reaching it is unconfirmed. Black Castle, Ichinsky Volcano, Anaun and farther volcanic groups are separate outings or distant views in clear weather. Chau-Chiv settlement lies beside the lower line and requires a separate visit. Esso’s thermal pools and Ethnographic Museum are outside this mountain approach and suit an independent village plan.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Regular transport to the upper side and Alpine Shelter is unconfirmed. Arrange a taxi or private journey to the lower start on Esso’s Zarechnaya side. Check intercity departures towards the village and your later city meeting beforehand. Finishing beside the shelter still leaves a separate walking exit to the road.
By car
Approach only the lower Zarechnaya side of Esso beside the initial park passage near the Bystraya River. Confirm the permitted drop-off with the park beforehand. The walking programme does not establish driving through the Nyulki valley, towards the upper circuit or to Alpine Shelter. Plan the whole return to the vehicle separately.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Check whether you may leave the car near the lower starting side for the planned trek. Arrange the return from the mountain finish to Esso separately.

What to expect

Places
Letny Stan pavilion A named woodland stop before continuing into the mountain valley. Check the onward plan here, using shelter only if its condition allows.
Nyulki pavilion A landmark before the more remote river and mountain side. Beyond it, the upper circuit and any overnight stay or return need their own plan.
Dygeren-Olengende upper mountain side The upper mountain circuit beside the volcano’s summit ridge. It approaches the highest side before descending towards Alpine Shelter; the exact highest point is not separately established.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1527 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски The mountain ascent and upper circuit need particular attention, followed by the descent towards Alpine Shelter. Snow, fog or strong wind may require an earlier turnaround. Assess water and crossings on the valley side; signs and roofs listed in an older passport are not guaranteed to remain available. Reaching the exact highest point requires a separate assessment of the permitted path and your ability.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 9 h 14 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
A day-by-day plan is not established. Agree the full multi-day outing, including Esso, the upper circuit, Alpine Shelter side and remaining return. The park’s standard overnight programme with an onward return has a wider scope than this version. Overnight places and access to the shelter are unconfirmed without arrangements. Retain time for the necessary descent before committing to the upper side.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
The main walking season is published for June–September. Agree October access, snow conditions and upper-side opening separately with the park. The current list marks the winter direction closed, which does not establish continuation of this walking programme. Check permission, registration and actual weather for the entire trek.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Footwear and poles for a long woodland approach and mountain descent.
Warm layers, windproof waterproof clothing, a hat and gloves for the upper side.
Water, food and agreed overnight equipment for the whole trek; shelter availability does not replace preparation.
Light, first aid, a map of Nyulki valley, the upper circuit and return exit, and spare power.
Independent communication, the park permit and a shared return plan.
