Route description

The Mendel Waterfall branch is currently closed, so the whole circuit is possible only after its official reopening. The main Mendelikha outing leads from the park entrance to the gorge cascades: Chervonny, Mishkin Grot, Aya and Snezhnoye Ruslo. Golden catches the eye with its long pale stream among the rocks, and Chara greets the return with water spilling from an arched ledge. Pause at the individual falls and enjoy Aibga’s southern side while following current signs and the lift schedule.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
The appeal lies in the changing waterfalls along a compact park corridor. Small cascades build towards Golden, and Chara adds a distinctive stone shape to the return. Until Mendel reopens, stay on the authorised main trail and respect its branch closure.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
These assessments apply to open paths only. Children need adults who can help on steps and keep them inside the railings. Dog admission is unconfirmed. The passport warns of gaps in mobile coverage. Hunting dog breeds are prohibited in the national park; the park recommends leaving other pets at home too. Check any additional rules for the specific outing with the operator.

Nearby

Visit Rosa Peak separately on the approach to the southern lift or after returning from the park. Allow extra time around the operating lift schedule. Forest café is in the park’s entrance area; check its opening before relying on food service.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Take a Lastochka train to Rosa Khutor station, then the resort’s confirmed shuttle to Rosa Dolina. The published approach uses Rosa Peak and the Edelweiss descent. Check that your sightseeing ticket includes the required lifts and that they operate on your visit date.
By car
Drive to Rosa Dolina in Esto-Sadok and continue by the resort’s lifts. Vehicle access directly to the waterfalls is unconfirmed. Check the southern lift connection and permitted park paths before purchasing tickets.
Parking
P 1, P 3 and P 6 are confirmed official car parks in Rosa Dolina. Check conditions and charges for your travel date. The trail passport prohibits vehicle parking directly at the walking start.

What to expect

Places
Mendel Waterfall A waterfall on Didenko Creek, a left tributary of the Mendelikha. Its separate trail is currently awaiting reopening.
Chervonny Waterfall The waterfall is associated by the operator with a local tale of spilled gold coins, presented as a legend rather than a documented event.
Mishkin Grot Waterfall A small cascade among the Mendelikha falls, offering a more intimate appearance than the larger neighbouring drops.
Aya Waterfall The operator connects its name with Boris Mendel’s wife; it is a named stop on the Golden Waterfall trail.
Snezhnoye Ruslo Waterfall A small waterfall before Golden, identified as a separate point of interest in the trail passport.
Golden Waterfall The walk’s strongest visual focal point: a tall waterfall with a viewing platform identified in the passport.
Chara Waterfall Water falls from an arched ledge into a bowl below, whose shape explains the name in the operator’s account.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Steps, bridges and return climbs need attention. Wet timber, stones and ground can be slippery, particularly near railings. Do not enter the water or climb over barriers. Omit the closed Mendel branch until it officially reopens, and stop if thunder or worsening weather makes the outing unsafe.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 53 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Once every branch is open, allow two to three hours for this compact circuit with stops. The official Golden trail is estimated at one hour forty minutes and the separate Mendel trail at forty minutes; these are section estimates rather than a guaranteed pace. While Mendel is closed, choose only the permitted main walk. Allow additional time for lifts and queues and return to Edelweiss well before its final ascent.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
The operator describes summer and autumn operation; the passport gives late May to October. Actual opening of each path, weather and the Edelweiss schedule matter more than the month. At review, the Mendel branch is closed. An announcement of future reopening does not establish a confirmed date.

Базовый список для комфортного похода
