Route description

From Kezenoy-Am, this variant heads towards Hebda, exchanging the lakeside landscape for the Botlikh area and further mountain crossings. At the beginning, pause by the water to look across to the opposite shore. Later, Preobrazhenskaya Fortress offers a historic stop quite different from the open slopes and pass-side pauses. Khupurda-Meir is one of the named points on the way towards Hebda. Treat the trek as a sequence of individual mountain days, with agreed overnight places, checked water and room for changing weather. Standard descriptions often run in the opposite direction towards the lake; arrange delivery to Kezenoy-Am and collection at Hebda in this order.
