Route description

This journey heads from Hebda towards Koroda through the Goor-side mountains and the Zgurtlyar valley. The river gives the walk a stop of its own, making the transition from open slopes to a more enclosed valley easier to notice. Around villages and neighbouring hillsides, retain time to pause as well as to walk. The name “Edge of the Towers” recalls Goor and Kahib, but visiting their old towers requires additional detours. Do not expect every familiar photographic spot to lie directly underfoot. The trek is appealing for its mountain road towards Koroda; the final section particularly needs dry weather, suitable footwear and confident walking. Agree overnight places and collection at the finish before leaving.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 14 h 38 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow several trekking days. Choose overnight places so that the narrow Koroda side is crossed in daylight with energy in reserve. Additional tower visits or neighbouring summits need their own time rather than a shorter allowance for the principal day.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Settled dry weather is preferable for loose and overgrown sections. Check overnight cold in autumn and possible snow in May and October. Confirm water separately in summer and reassess the demanding Koroda side after rain.
