Route description

This internal circuit concentrates on two distinctive places in the Yew and Boxwood Grove. From the woodland junction, the supplied direction passes the Giant Yew first, then follows the Stone Labyrinth’s narrow limestone corridors near the return. Between these stops, shaded trunks, uneven stone and small gully crossings make the paths part of the experience. Arrange admission through the central Samshitovaya Street entrance, with the visitor-centre approach added separately. The sequence reverses the reserve’s standard excursion description, so check the permitted direction and signs before starting. Walk slowly enough to examine the old tree’s form and the stone walls without leaving the path.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Reach the central entrance independently from Khosta. The reserve recommends the Small Circuit for young children, with supervision on stairs and rocky ground. Only part suits a stroller, and the published poor municipal approach-road warning is an additional obstacle. Dogs and bicycles are prohibited inside; continuous reception is unconfirmed.

Nearby

The visitor-centre exhibition is included in grove admission and lies on the separate entrance approach. The Big Circuit, Khosta Fortress and Devil’s Gate Canyon direction require different paths, more time and an access check.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The reserve names Khosta-Most Bus Stop, followed by walking beside the river along Samshitovaya Street to the central entrance. Check current services and the return departure before travelling. Add the separate ticket-desk approach to the internal circuit start.
By car
Plan vehicle arrival to the central Samshitovaya Street entrance in Khosta. Check the final municipal road beforehand: the reserve publishes a poor-surface warning. Continue inside on foot; the Giant Yew path is not a vehicle road.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Arrange a permitted vehicle-storage place and current terms beside the external entrance beforehand; arrival in Khosta does not guarantee a space.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 30–50 min
With stops | 1–1.5 h This editorial allowance covers the internal circuit and its tree/labyrinth stops. Add arrival from Khosta, admission, the visitor-centre approach and exhibition separately. Winter closing is 17:00 and summer closing 18:00; arrive with a margin and check present access at the ticket desk.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Visit year-round when access is permitted. Stones become slippery after rain, and strong wind is a reason to postpone. October brings shorter winter opening hours; allow for woodland dusk even on this small circuit.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Closed grippy footwear and light rain protection.
Water and food: shops and drinking fountains are absent on the internal paths.
Small first-aid kit, rubbish bag and any document needed to claim an admission concession.
