Route description

The Air Temple pavilion gives this small Middle Park walk its character. White columns and a semicircular form recall the light garden architecture of an older spa landscape. The selected direction begins on the path beside the pavilion, then descends past the Grey Rocks area to the Plaza-side exit. Grey-yellow sandstone makes a particular natural feature to examine while staying on the walking path. The descent can conclude a longer visit to the higher avenues or become a small separate outing after an independently planned approach to the Air Temple. The modern New Air Temple building elsewhere should not be confused with the historic pavilion.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Two compact park scenes give this walk a clear purpose: the classical pavilion beside the start and the sandstone formations on the descent. They offer a close look at a Middle Park corner without a long circuit of the Dzhinal ridge.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
The short descent suits a family walk on dry ground. Reaching the Air Temple requires a separate uphill approach; the walk does not begin at the station. With a stroller, assess slope and braking beforehand and exclude rock platforms. Dogs need a lead; cycling outside designated paths is prohibited.

Nearby

May Day Meadow and Rose Valley can be added as separate extensions with their own time allowance. The Grey Rocks viewing platforms require a distinct cautious approach. The historic Air Temple differs from the modern namesake farther east.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Arrive in Kislovodsk by rail and use the official city walk from the station to the lower park entrance. Reaching the Air Temple then requires a separate uphill approach. Transport directly to this descent start is unconfirmed; plan the Plaza-side exit around your onward city journey.
By car
Use the official A 157 city approach to Kislovodsk. Finish the vehicle journey outside the walking avenues and reach the Air Temple on foot. Car access to the pavilion is unconfirmed.
Parking
The passport lists city parking on Dzerzhinsky Avenue and Vokzalnaya Street. Check current terms and the walking approach to the start separately. Vehicle storage beside the pavilion is unconfirmed.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Even this short descent can be slippery after rain or frost. Stay back from Grey Rocks’ edges; visiting their rock platforms is not an essential part of the path. Assess slopes before using a stroller, and plan any necessary bypass separately.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 20–30 min
With stops | 40–60 min This covers the selected descent from the Air Temple area past Grey Rocks to the lower Plaza-side exit. The uphill approach to the start and any walk to the pavilion doorway need separate time. The official passport describes the reverse uphill direction; its ascent allowance is not an exact timing for this descent.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry weather without ice. In warm conditions the descent combines well with a separate pavilion visit; in colder periods surface condition and daylight matter more. Indoor shelter and pavilion opening hours are not assumed.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Stable footwear with a non-slip sole.
Water and clothing for wind beside exposed park platforms.
Rain protection; a preselected safe return for children or a stroller.
