Route description

The outing begins on the Red Sun side above the city avenues. Its named viewpoint and Lermontov monument give the start a hillside character before the walk gradually returns to the old spa landscape. This selected direction of the second terrenkur leads downhill through pine sections and the Air Temple side to the gentler Lower Park paths. Examine the historic pavilion’s columns from the adjacent path without assuming an indoor visit. Narzan Gallery marks the finish. The order works well after a separately chosen ascent to the upper park: the day ends in central Kislovodsk, where exploring the town can continue.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
The full descent requires more stamina than the short Lower Park circuit. Assess the separate Red Sun approach for children. With a stroller, choose stable ground and account for gradients; all approaches are not confirmed step-free. Dogs need a lead. Reception comes from the official passport; this pedestrian version’s cycling designation is unconfirmed.

Nearby

Seven Winds Gazebo and Blue Rocks require continuing above Red Sun and are excluded from this descent. Mirror Pond lies on a separate lower path. Entering the gallery adds an independent stop subject to opening hours.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Trains arrive at Kislovodsk Railway Station; the park describes the onward walking approach to Narzan Gallery. This descent requires a separate climb to Red Sun beforehand. A direct service to the upper platform is unconfirmed. Coordinate the gallery finish with your return walk to the station.
By car
The official A 157 road serves the city approach. Reach the upper start separately through the park; visitor-car access to Red Sun is unconfirmed. Decide beforehand where to finish the vehicle journey and how to begin the walk above.
Parking
The passport identifies city parking beside the Lower Park. Confirm current storage rules and available spaces. This serves the lower city approach rather than Red Sun; the uphill walk to the start remains a separate part of the day.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Fatigue can accumulate on the sustained descent, especially after reaching the start on foot. Stone surfaces become slippery after rain and can ice over in winter. Follow the bends rather than cutting across planted slopes; assess the complete gradient before using a stroller.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 1.5–2 h
With stops | 2.5–3.5 h This covers the selected descent from the Red Sun side to Narzan Gallery. Reaching the upper start, entering the gallery and extra circuits are excluded. A complete day beginning at the lower entrance needs a separately planned ascent; the descent allowance alone is not an outward-and-return plan.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose a day without heavy rain or ice. In summer, an early start helps avoid midday heat, including on the independent uphill approach. Wet needles and autumn leaves alter grip; check the surface before a cold-season outing.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Comfortable footwear with a grippy sole.
Water and a small food supply for the complete day, including the upper approach.
Rain and wind protection with an extra warm layer for a pause at the viewpoint.
