Route description

The ascent follows Kivakka’s western side from a lower forest path to the open summit. Taiga trees initially surround the walk, then give way to low birch woodland and mountain tundra. Wind is more noticeable on the upper platform, while clear weather opens a broad view of Lake Pyaozero. The route ends at the summit: include the return in your day before setting out. Arrange the visit through Paanajarvi National Park with a permit and briefing. The published summer walking season is June–September; an October outing needs separate confirmation from the administration.
