Route description

The Kashtak Trail is closed. The national park identifies the danger of falling dead trees; expected improvement dates are not an opening announcement. Do not plan the Yellow variant yet. This traverse connects the Kashtak approach with the Central Pillars rock district. Its line reaches the Stolby and City viewpoints, named places that give Kashtak a character of its own. Unlike a short walk between the rocks near Pereval, the main experience here is the crossing between different parts of the upland. It calls for a full hiking day and a return plan made in advance. After an official reopening, check exactly which sections are authorised: access to the short boardwalk near Bobrovy Log does not mean the entire Kashtak traverse is open.
