Route description

Beside Badea Cârțan Museum, Cârțișoara gives this journey a local cultural beginning. The approach then rises towards the wooded Făgăraș side, leaving the settlement behind. Cârțișoara River marks the lower-valley section, while Bâlea River appears near the Bâlea Cascadă finish. This is a sensible place to conclude the selected walk and keep the upper valley for another day. The programme includes roadside and forest choices: decide which alternatives to use and how to return. On this mountain-road approach, take traffic seriously and avoid searching for indistinct woodland paths near dusk. Museum entry depends on current operation; agree a visit separately.
