Route description

Lespezi rises above the southern side of Făgăraș and provides a distinct mountain objective from Piscul Negru. A woodland approach becomes pastoral paths before reaching the rocky Piciorul Lespezi shoulder. Find the metal wind rose at the summit and pause before descending: the relationship between Lespezi and neighbouring Cornul Călțunului becomes clear here. Further passages revisit the southern ridge, Lespezi valley and familiar lower paths. This version includes repeated approaches and returns rather than a straightforward single circuit. The endpoint is on a lower forest path, so check its connection to your accommodation at Piscul Negru separately.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 2948 м.
SurfaceDirt 79%, Compacted dirt 4%, Unknown 17%.
Риски The rocky shoulder becomes steeper and rougher, with a rock step and exposed places on the southern ridge. Move carefully on wet stone. The easy character of the lower woodland does not extend to the upper mountain; snow and fog require different preparation.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 10–14 h
With stops | 14–18 h An editorial estimate for all selected passages with returns, not a single standard circuit. Prefer 2 days of walking with accommodation agreed at the valley base: day 1 for the approach and summit; day 2 for remaining valley and repeated sections according to the group’s condition. Do not plan an improvised ridge overnight. Clarify the final return from the lower endpoint to your accommodation separately.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose snow-free conditions with settled visibility. Wind and thunderstorms affect the exposed upper passage; curtail repeated outings and postpone the summit if conditions deteriorate.
