Route description

This walk has two distinct waterside settings: the lower branches visit Tobias Stream and the Polyana 960 Plunge Pool, while the upper approach reaches Rzhanoy Stream in the direction of Polikarya. After a pause near the pool, attention shifts to the woodland passage and keeping enough energy for the return. The version combines several resort branches rather than offering a short outing to one pool alone. Polikarya Waterfall itself remains beyond the end of the selected approach. Any extension requires separate agreement, an open path and an assessment of conditions beside the water. A sign bearing the waterfall name does not establish that the cascade is visited. Passing a pool also does not establish bathing permission. Before travelling, ask which branches are available, arrange the permit and discuss the complete plan with the resort information centre.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Be ready for a daylight mountain walk with retraced portions. With children, preserve the option of omitting the upper section; public transport to the resort does not establish mountain access.

Nearby

Polikarya is a separate extension beyond this version. Arrange the cascade viewpoint and return in addition to the selected walk. The Four Elements bathing complex has its own operating arrangements and booking.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The resort lists buses from Sochi and Adler and Lastochka trains to Estosadok followed by a taxi or transfer. Arrange access to the lower woodland branches and the return from the upper side separately. Check the last departure instead of relying on it.
By car
The official lower Krasnaya Polyana Resort approach uses the A-149. Confirm the upper drop-off and return meeting place for this programme. Continue to Rzhanoy Stream on foot along an agreed open branch.
Parking
The official resort guide identifies parking at Polyana 540 and Polyana 960. Check conditions and choose a place suited to the later return. Parking beside the upper ending at Rzhanoy Stream is unconfirmed.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceDirt 44%, Gravel 43%, Unknown 13%.
Риски The upper section needs greater attention to slope conditions and remaining energy than the pool stop. Walk carefully over wet roots and stones after rain. Avoid a closed waterfall branch or crossing a flow to shorten the journey.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 6 h
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow a daylight outing with room for the lower branches, upper approach and return. Adding Polikarya changes the programme: establish the extension and return allowance before setting out. Lift waiting needs a separate margin.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose confirmed open passages and settled, snow-free conditions. Snow and wet ground on the upper side may differ from conditions beside the hotels. Assess the whole programme instead of the pool alone.

What to bring
