Route description

From the Cirque 1 side, the passage gains Aibga’s crest and introduces three separate summits: Aibga 1, Aibga 2 and Sedaya. Encountering them on the mountain itself differs from looking up from the valley. Grassy saddles, rocky climbs and exposed slopes alternate, with some branches returning along familiar ground. The direction then continues east towards Rosa Khutor’s upper area. Near Sedaya, confident movement across steep grass and rock is particularly important. Arrange the order of the mountain branches and eastern descent before setting out: resort lifts help with access but do not make the ridge an ordinary promenade.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Three named summits give the ridge a clear structure and reveal Aibga through its own mountain terrain. This is a focused full day for a prepared walker, rather than a collection of incidental viewpoint stops.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Operating resort lifts permit a car-free visit, but the traverse itself requires mountain-walking experience. Rocky exposed ground excludes an ordinary family stroll. Dog conditions and reliable ridge reception are unconfirmed.

Nearby

Black Pyramid is a separate upper rocky direction. Iceberg and Kholodnoye lie lower within Cirque 3 and add their own approach. Mendelikha Waterfall Park is on the southern slope beyond the selected ridge passage.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Bus and rail approaches reach the western resort, followed by permitted ascent to the mountain start. The eastern finish needs its own operating cableway and ticket. Check both resorts’ conditions; historical free-descent advice is not a guarantee.
By car
A-149 reaches Krasnaya Polyana resort’s lower levels. The vehicle does not accompany the traverse; plan retrieval on the western side after the eastern finish. Driving onto the ridge is excluded.
Parking
The western resort identifies parking at Poliana 540 and Poliana 960. Confirm storage and return to the vehicle after descending on the other side. Lower parking availability does not solve the upper-station connection.

What to expect

Aibga 2 the separate middle summit of the crest passage.
Aibga 3 Sedaya Aibga’s third rocky summit on the long mountain version.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1075 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски This mountain passage has serious exposed ground. Near Sedaya, steep dirt-and-grass slopes and a rocky traverse become substantially harder in rain. Experience, dry calm weather and a guide for an unfamiliar direction are needed. Exclude the complete traverse in thunderstorms, strong wind, snow or mountain-path closure. Confirm the national-park permit.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 6–8 h
With stops | 8–10 h This allowance covers the selected long ridge passage with returns along individual mountain branches. Plan 1 day of walking from the earliest permitted lift departure, adding ascent and descent travel separately. A short one-summit excursion is not a substitute. If the eastern descent’s closing time leaves insufficient margin, choose a shorter permitted outing beforehand.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose open snow-free conditions with a dry calm forecast. Early autumn sometimes brings clear days, but snowfall and lift maintenance can end the season. In summer, allow for rapidly developing ridge cloud and thunderstorms.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Mountain footwear, familiar grippy poles and clothing covering exposed skin.
Wind and rain protection, a warm layer, water and food for a long day.
An offline map of all branches and both descents, a headlamp, backup power, a permit and resort contacts.
