Route description

From the Hungerburg paths beside St Theresa’s Church, this extended variant turns towards Mühlau’s wooded side. Paths and steps alternate with broader roads, while the Mühlau Gorge crossing gives the outing a distinct natural focus. The woodland edge then connects with local streets and open farm-side ground before returning to Hungerburg. The name belongs to a Tatzlwurm legend, but the walking interest is practical and visible: changing surfaces, a forest gorge and the transition between mountain edge and residential districts. The selected circuit includes repeated passages and branches, so agree the junction sequence beforehand. It is an extended walking version for which the standard running allowance does not apply. Indoor church frescoes and a deeper gorge descent remain separate visits.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Hungerburg is served by the funicular and line J. Children need to manage the full extended circuit, steps and narrow forest descents; stay together at the gorge edge. Cycling is prohibited on part of the outing. A stroller cannot cover the whole sequence. Dog rules and continuous reception are unconfirmed.

Nearby

Max Weiler’s frescoes at St Theresa’s Church require a separate indoor visit with opening checked. The cable-car museum and Hermann-Buhl-Platz lie on an independent station approach. Arzler Alm and other upper farms need additional ascents.

How much time to allow
