Route description

In this direction, H 4 starts on western Mils’s side and follows the villages towards eastern Arzl. The opening pedestrian passage and wooden bridge require walking the bicycle, then local roads and separate gravel links continue the journey. In Absam, the line passes beside the pilgrimage basilica’s exterior before turning through Thaur’s road districts towards Rum. Rum’s western edge has the Marian Chapel with a medallion above its entrance. This variant includes repeated road sections and different village start and finish points, so arrange the return beforehand. The interest lies in village architecture and actual roadside stops; no alpine hut or mountain summit is visited. Indoor church viewing remains separate from travelling along H 4.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Exact public arrival at the selected start is unconfirmed. The cycling version requires a confident rider: dismount at the opening, then negotiate streets with traffic. Children need road-riding experience. A stroller is unsuitable for this complete crossing. Dog rules and continuous reception are unconfirmed.

Nearby

View basilica and chapel interiors only after separately checking opening and permitted visiting. Absam Museum, Mils centre, Thaur’s castle ruins and other local sights need other approaches. Arzl’s full village centre lies beyond the selected eastern finish.

Getting there

Without a car
A confirmed public approach to the selected start is not established. Arrange exact arrival and the return after finishing in another village; check bicycle-carriage conditions separately if bringing a bike on transport.
