Route description

This extended journey begins on Svetloe’s western side and gradually explores four Ergaki lake basins. After several returning outings above Svetloe, it crosses Ptitsa Pass, reaches Mountain Spirits Lake and descends towards Artists Lake. The wooded first basin, the more open mountain setting of the next and Artists’ rocky valley each deserve their own pause. Artists-2 takes the journey towards Karovoe before it returns over the same saddle. The later part explores western forest branches and repeated lower approaches, ending on a Buyba-side wooded path. Revisits are central to this version: familiar passes and valleys appear from another direction, while the lake journey occupies only part of the whole visit. Prepare overnight arrangements, the final exit and an acceptable Artists-2 descent with an experienced leader.
