Route description

This Monrepos outing brings together two sides of Tverdysh Island. In the museum grounds, pause at Narcissus Spring, the Chinese Bridges and Väinämöinen, then examine the Hermit Hut and Levkadian Rock. The park’s romantic character appears in individual objects: a small spring pavilion, a wooden hut and the white curves of the bridges. The present Kalevala hero is a recreated image rather than the surviving original statue. Other passages lead towards historic fortifications, including Linnasaari Battery and Count Chernyshev Fortifications. These woodland approaches do not share a guaranteed opening with the museum grounds. Establish admission to each part, particularly the nature trail, which may close because of path conditions. Enter the paid museum grounds through the ticket office and authorised gates. A rewarding day comes from choosing available sections and giving them time, rather than bypassing fences to complete a circuit.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
The museum publishes a separate accessible itinerary for stroller users; it does not make every woodland passage here suitable. Watch children beside rocks and water. Animal admission is prohibited; check the guide-dog exception in the museum rules.

Nearby

Ludwigstein and the family cemetery on its separate island are not an unrestricted walking continuation. Leave Vyborg Castle and the city centre for their own visit. The manor-house exhibition also needs a separate admission and time choice.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
From Vyborg Station the museum lists a walking approach, bus 16 to the Central District Hospital, or a taxi. Check departures and the onward passage to the entrance. Coordinate the ticket-office opening and the later exit-only period with your return.
By car
Plan arrival at the current museum entrance in Vyborg using present city information. Older notices about temporary street works do not establish today’s traffic arrangement. Keep vehicles outside woodland passages and closed museum grounds.
Parking
The museum’s accessibility information identifies parking beside the entrance. Confirm availability and conditions for your visit. An entrance parking area does not authorise leaving a vehicle beside closed woodland gates or obstructing city roads.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 55 м.
SurfaceAsphalt 1%, Unknown 100%.
Риски Keep away from unprotected rock edges. Damp granite, roots and stairs need care. Do not enter old underground structures without separate authorisation. If the nature trail is closed, finish in the available grounds instead of bypassing fences.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 2 h 28 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Plan a daylight visit with time for museum stops and the woodland section if open. Check admission hours separately from the final exit time. Visiting the manor house or taking a guided tour requires additional time and its own admission arrangements.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
A dry snow-free day suits the combination of park and woodland passages. In winter or a thaw, use only sections authorised for the day; an operating museum entrance does not confirm an open nature trail.
