Route description

This passage starts on the Laspi side and leads towards Balaklava through mountain and historic stops. Near Kush-Kaya, attention begins with the hillside’s form before the woodland reveals a less obvious attraction: a medieval pottery kiln. Ayazma-Chokrak Spring adds another named pause without promising dependable drinking water. Towards Balaklava, Asketi Mountain and South Fort shift the focus from landscape to history. At the observation post called the Barrel of Death, there is no need to step onto a projecting structure. Examine it from a safe accessible side. This variant goes from Laspi towards Balaklava, so arrival and the town exit differ. Check current mountain access and closures before travelling; a path on an older map does not establish present permission.
