Route description

From Orekhovo, this cycling trip heads east towards Ladoga and finishes at Banny Breakwater. Named waterside places interrupt the woodland riding: Losiny Stream, Pulkonlampi Lake, the Losevka and the Vyun. At stops, attention can shift from bicycle control to water and banks before the journey continues towards the open lakeshore ending. Banny Breakwater is the specific goal of this version. The trip does not promise an operating lighthouse tower or a seaside arrival: the shore belongs to Lake Ladoga. A return to Orekhovo is not included. Agree collection with the bicycle before departure and establish woodland-road and water-crossing conditions. Examine the final rocky part on foot when weather permits rather than expecting to ride along the pier.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No data By bike - Yes With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data This sustained mountain-bike journey has separate arrival and departure arrangements. Choose a short independent section for leisurely riding with children. Confident cycling and the ability to walk difficult surfaces are needed.

Nearby

Maanselkya and the Memory of Rautu memorial trail need a separate visit. Padunets Waterfall on the Burnaya belongs to another excursion and is not a stop on this cycling passage. Organise a separate shorter arrival if the Banny Breakwater shore alone is the goal.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The Orekhovo Trail organisers list trains from Finland Station on the Priozersk direction to Orekhovo. Check that the selected service stops there and establish bicycle-carriage rules. Arrange departure from Banny Breakwater independently; the arrival layout does not establish a return service from the shore.
By car
The published Orekhovo arrival layout uses Novopriozerskoye Highway and the station turn. Delivery at the start and lakeshore collection are separate arrangements. Identify an authorised meeting point near the shore beforehand; do not plan vehicle entry onto the pier.
Parking
Official parking for this journey is unconfirmed. Ask a host or local services whether a vehicle may be stored at the chosen location throughout the trip. Request the conditions and permission before departure.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 57 м.
SurfaceDirt 41%, Compacted dirt 12%, Dirt / grass 7%, Unknown 25%.
Риски Woodland ground, sand and damp roots need confident control. Assess every authorised water crossing; an unfamiliar ford is not a shortcut. Dismount beside the pier stones and keep to a safe position, particularly in wind.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 5 h 24 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow a day programme with waterside rest and room for agreed shore collection. Monitor the finishing time and avoid adding a return ride without a separate plan. Pier viewing depends on weather and should not delay the return into darkness.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry snow-free conditions with checked woodland roads. Strong wind and waves on Ladoga may cancel a pier visit even when riding conditions in the forest are comfortable. Reconsider timing and stops after rain.

What to bring
