Route description

Starting beside Balashikha’s railway station, this cycling loop heads towards the Klyazma and the town’s northern surroundings. Urban passages alternate with woodland roads and river pauses: the Pekhorka is a local landmark, while the Klyazma marks the farther northern part. Trinity Church in Korolyov offers a brief change from riding to observing the architecture of an active parish. Build the day around the journey rather than speed. It calls for a rider comfortable with urban traffic and able to judge an unpaved road. Before using the woodland side near Losiny Ostrov, confirm the selected passage with the park administration and observe zoning: the strictly protected zone is not open for an independent ride. Riverside pauses are most enjoyable when enough energy remains for the return.

Всё важное о маршруте

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Take a substantial cycling outing from Balashikha and return to the starting area. The Klyazma, Pekhorka and Trinity Church give the ride more variety than a routine training lap, combining rivers, urban outskirts and woodland roads when access has been checked in advance.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
The full sporting loop suits a prepared adult, with urban roads and substantial time in the saddle. Its railway start permits a car-free visit after checking bicycle carriage. The complete outing is impractical with a child or stroller. Dog accompaniment and reception have not been separately established.

Nearby

Losiny Ostrov’s ecological centres suit a separate visit under national park rules, rather than an unplanned ride through their grounds. Confirm excursions and access to a chosen centre with the administration. Trinity Church is an active parish, so reserve a quieter separate visit for a fuller look.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The start is beside Balashikha railway station. Select a current train and confirm bicycle carriage in advance. The northern section passes Zagoryanskaya halt, a possible backup exit after checking the appropriate train and platform approach.
By car
Drive to the urban starting side in Balashikha and continue by bicycle. The loop returns to the same area, simplifying vehicle retrieval. Woodland roads do not authorise driving into the national park; restrictions on motorised transport apply separately from the cycling plan.
Parking
A dedicated car park for this cycling loop has not been confirmed. Choose a lawful town space before starting, inspect signs and payment, and keep railway approaches and residents’ roads clear. Do not leave the parking decision until the woodland sections.

What to expect

Places
Klyazma River The river section on the northern side of the cycling loop offers a waterside pause; stand clear of the road and other traffic.
Trinity Church in Korolyov The stone church on Gorky Street was consecrated in 2015. Its exterior adds an architectural stop on the northwestern part of the ride; any interior visit requires respect for the active parish.
Pekhorka River The river on the western side of the loop accompanies the return towards Balashikha; stop at a firm accessible bank rather than turning down to the water at speed.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 68 м.
SurfaceAsphalt 54%, Dirt 7%, Improved surface 2%, Unknown 34%.
Риски The main issues are urban traffic, unpaved surfaces and lawful woodland access. Slow at intersections and use authorised crossings. Mud and roots after rain may require dismounting. Near Losiny Ostrov, do not enter the strictly protected zone, light fires or create new passages; establish the selected woodland link before departure. Give pedestrians space on bridges and beside the river.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 4 h 35 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow about 4–6 hours for the full cycling loop including stops, with more time at a slower pace or on wet ground. One-day plan: a morning start at Balashikha, the northern Klyazma section, an architectural pause at Trinity Church and a return through the western side. Check woodland access and the backup railway exit before starting; restrictions may require a different independent plan.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Prefer a dry period from spring once the ground has dried until early autumn. Reconsider the date after prolonged rain, when wheel ruts and wet roots matter more than air temperature. Bring more water in heat and account for early autumn darkness. A prepared winter cycling course is not implied.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
A sound bicycle for mixed surfaces, helmet and working brakes.
Water, food and waterproof clothing.
A spare tube or repair kit, pump and basic tools.
A downloaded map, phone and front and rear lights.
