Route description

This ride combines the Moscow River’s banks with a small town journey through Zvenigorod. From Ukrainskaya Street, it crosses the river on the town road bridge and then follows right-bank paths towards Lutsino and Anikovo. Ostrovnya Stream and Lutsinsky Spring appear beside the journey, before country surroundings give way to woodland edges and real smaller watercourses. The western outing’s main destination is the wooden suspension bridge at Karinskoye. Walk your bicycle over the narrow crossing and enjoy the river at an unhurried pace. After turning at the bridge, the ride returns along the familiar valley side, meeting Molodelnya River, Bardinsky Stream and Andreyevsky Stream. A distinct concluding town circuit brings Ascension Cathedral, Chekhov’s monument, the monument to Saint Savva and Prince Yury, Alexander Nevsky Church and Zvenigorod Manezh beside the passage. The final stop at Lyubov Orlova’s monument introduces the town’s theatre and film history. The journey offers a way to combine dirt-road cycling with exterior town visits, leaving museum galleries for a separately arranged stop.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No data By bike - Partially With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data For cyclists experienced on mixed roads, dirt descents and town streets. Walk the bicycle on the Karinskoye crossing and pedestrian approaches; the journey is not continuously rideable in the saddle. The complete option is unsuitable for a beginner children’s group or stroller outing. Dog accompaniment and bus carriage need separate arrangements; reception throughout the valley is unknown.

Nearby

Manezh offers its “Zvenigorod: From Earth to Heaven” exhibition and separate guided visits; arrange gallery admission and bicycle storage independently. The Back to the USSR Museum beside the town circuit also needs a separate visit. The complete MSU biological station is a scientific and educational centre with its own rules and booked excursions, rather than an unrestricted cycling attraction. Valtsovsky Ravine and Kostin Pond are beside the woodland portion, without confirmed safe independent approaches as included stops. Karinskoye’s museums, Katyusha Memorial, Gorodok and Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery need additional detours; turning at the bridge does not include them all.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Departure and finish are at Ukrainskaya Street bus stop in Zvenigorod, separately from the railway station. Confirm services and bicycle carriage with the operator. The museum also publishes bus approaches to Manezh and Magazin No. 3 stops, needing a separate town approach to this departure. If taking a train to Zvenigorod station, prepare a lawful bicycle connection to the start and confirm carriage conditions on the chosen train.
By car
Arrange a lawful town-side drop-off on Ukrainskaya Street, keeping the bus-stop area clear. The ride returns here after its separate town circuit. If using the museum’s recommended parking near Manezh, make an independent permitted approach to the departure on foot or by bicycle. Do not direct a car along dirt riverbank paths or onto Karinskoye Suspension Bridge.
Parking
Zvenigorod Museum recommends town parking a few minutes’ walk from Manezh. Confirm the exact entrance, current signs, charges and permission to leave a car for the whole outing beforehand. This requires a separate approach to the Ukrainskaya Street departure; a space directly beside the bus stop is not promised. Keep church gates and the museum entrance clear.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 74 м.
SurfaceAsphalt 7%, Paving stones 2%, Dirt / grass 1%, Unknown 91%.
Риски Walk your bicycle over Karinskoye Bridge and its pedestrian approaches: the primary route publication explicitly warns of a portion where cycling is not permitted. Check present bridge restrictions, give way to others and account for slippery wooden decking and wind. Choose a permitted mode on the town bridge; use its side pedestrian passage when crossing on foot. Dirt slopes, roots and softened paths require a speed at which you can stop confidently. Follow current one-way directions and crossings in town rather than cutting across opposing traffic. Passing outside the biological station does not establish entry to scientific buildings or closed property. Do not depend on unconfirmed drinking water at the spring.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 3 h
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
The complete independent outing time is unestablished. Keep a day free for the dirt-road ride, walking bridge passage, return and town stops. Manezh and other museum exhibitions require their own time allowance, tickets and opening checks. A day-by-day plan is not established. If riverside paths soften, shorten the ride using a previously chosen lawful plan while retaining time to return to town.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Prefer dry dirt paths, cool weather and enough daylight for the return. Rain can make riverside slopes and bridge approaches slippery. Carry your own water on exposed sections in heat; winter ice changes the ground and wooden crossing. Check museum opening independently of weather and the cycling outing.
