Route description

The Oka’s right bank links ancient Rostislavl, the pilgrimage place near Gorodna and Kolomna’s residential side on this hike. The beginning lies at the bridge’s southern end near Ozyory, requiring separately prepared city arrival and access to the correct bank. The road continues beside the river beneath settlement slopes, alternating close bank-side places with higher approaches. The valley’s changing pattern gives the outing its interest: river, open fields and wooded banks take turns as the main surroundings. Rostislavl Ryazansky adds historical depth. Earthworks survive at the fortified site, where archaeologists continue studying the medieval town and its gateway. Examine the monument from permitted existing passages, leaving excavation areas and rampart edges untouched. The course then returns towards the river, skirts Sosnovka on bank-side and field roads, and continues through Tregubovo towards Berkhino. Berkhino’s road crossing passes over the Osetr. Farther on, St Nicholas Spring near Gorodna provides a place for a quiet pause after village and woodland portions. Check present visiting arrangements beforehand; pool entry and using its water are optional separate decisions. Beyond Gorodna, fields and woodland alternate again before the road reaches Glades in Kolomna. Allow time for river views and Rostislavl’s history. Once crossings and access are confirmed, several days can be prepared with separately agreed permitted overnight locations and departure. Finishing in Glades concludes the selected direction without an obligatory extension to the kremlin or station; exploring Kolomna itself can be a separate visit.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
This extended walk links Ozyory’s right-bank side with the bus finish in Glades. Rail and bus arrival and return require separate approaches and present service checks, including access to the bridge side. Steep slopes, uneven ground and independent supplies are unsuitable for a leisure outing with young children or a stroller. Check cycling separately: the author prohibits riding through the holy-spring grounds, while steep and clay sections require walking. Dog rules, reception and permitted overnight locations are unestablished.

Nearby

The former Rostislavl cemetery’s memorial cross stands separately from the short viewing approach and needs its own safe permitted passage. Sosnovka’s Church of the Intercession and Gorodna village’s St Nicholas Church also require separate visits. The riffle at Berkhino’s former low bridge lies away from the current road crossing. Kolomna Kremlin and Golutvin Station are excluded from the Glades finish. Another catalogue version combines separate portions of this same area and should not be treated as this continuous hike.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Prepare arrival on the southern, right-bank bridge side near Ozyory. A physical stop is associated by the author with a Kashira direction. Arrival at Ozyory’s bus station requires a separately checked approach and present permitted pontoon crossing. Glades’s finish has a physical bus stop; confirm an operating Golutvin connection and onward train beforehand. An intermediate Berkhino ending depends on a checked Lukhovitsy service and separate boarding approach. Historical frequencies and bus numbers do not establish present departures.
By car
Arrange permitted delivery to the right-bank beginning near Ozyory and separate collection in Glades. Pontoon operation and access to the required side can change, so check the crossing beforehand. Prepare a separate return to any vehicle left at the beginning. Driving the bank-side walking course, fortified site or holy-spring grounds is unestablished; intermediate collection in Berkhino or on the Gorodna side needs a permitted road and agreed meeting point.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Arrange permitted vehicle storage near your chosen beginning side or finish beforehand. A pontoon bridge, bank-side road, spring or bus stop does not establish parking for the complete hike. Keep entrances, passenger approaches and residents’ roads clear.

What to expect

Places
Oka River’s Right Bank the hike’s riverside setting, alternating upper-bank and floodplain roads. Observe water from stable accessible ground, choosing shoreline branches separately.
Rostislavl Ryazansky Fortified Site medieval town remains with earthworks. Contemporary research studies its layout and gateway; an existing passage does not authorize entering excavations or collecting finds.
Osetr River near Berkhino the river at the road crossing between settlement and wooded continuations. The former bridge site and riffle need a separate safe approach.
St Nicholas Spring near Gorodna the pilgrimage place with a spring and immersion pool. Choose a quiet pause under present visiting arrangements; pool entry and drinking-water quality are unconfirmed.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceDirt 13%, Asphalt 11%, Sand 6%, Unknown 63%.
Риски The river-side course has steep ascents, descents and sideways slopes. An old cable on the Rostislavl approach is not certified protection or a prepared sporting installation. Hogweed occurs near the site and narrow passages: avoid contact and pushing through vegetation for shortcuts. Use permitted safe paths outside excavation areas. Reassess ditches, uneven woodland and Matyrka-area fields after rain; wet clay particularly complicates cycling. Watch for vehicles on Berkhino’s bridge and asphalt continuation. Check passage beside Gorodna’s garden fences and avoid closed side territories towards Glades. Prepare safe shortening beforehand if a present permitted passage is unestablished.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 11 h 29 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Time for the route | Unestablished With stops | Unestablished The author suggests 2–3 days, with geographical stages from Ozyory to Berkhino and Berkhino to Glades. A current ready day-by-day plan and permitted overnight locations are unestablished and require separate arrangements after access checks. Allow independently for the beginning approach, fortified-site pause, spring visiting arrangements and Glades departure. Extensions to the kremlin, Osetr riffle and vehicle return are excluded.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry snow-free conditions after checking crossings, banks and access. Wet steep slopes, field ditches and clay change after rain, while high water requires renewed river-approach and pontoon-arrival assessment. Warm-season tall vegetation and hogweed need attention. Daylight should leave room for the selected daily ending; winter access throughout is unestablished.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода

Poles for balance on permitted uneven passages; do not rely on an old cable as protection.
For agreed overnight accommodation: suitable equipment and a separately checked permitted location.
