Route description

Explore the Oka’s right bank through separate walks with their own arrival and return. On the Rostislavl side, pause at the former churchyard’s memorial cross and then head along bank-side approaches towards the southern bridge side near Ozyory. Another Rostislavl outing passes through the fortified site, where earthworks and research into the medieval town give the riverside scenery historical depth. Rural continuations follow Sosnovka’s river side, fields and woodland roads towards Tregubovo. Broad river surroundings gradually change into closer woodland passages. End each chosen day only after preparing a permitted approach and return; a woodland junction is not itself a transport finish. On the Kolomna side, begin in Glades and walk in the reverse direction through fields and woods towards St Nicholas Spring near Gorodna. After a pilgrimage pause, the road continues across the Osetr on Berkhino’s bridge and towards woodland west of the village. This provides another perspective on the area: rural and wooded approaches followed by a spring, river and village road. Prepare separate walking days to explore all these places. A single continuous passage between every beginning and ending is not assumed; each outing retains its own direction, approach and departure.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No data By bike - Partially With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data These separate outings need independently prepared arrival and return. Bus landmarks are confirmed at Ozyory’s southern bridge side and Glades, but woodland and field endings are not transport stops. Steep river slopes, ditches and extended rural portions are unsuitable for an ordinary outing with young children or a stroller. Cycling suits only some checked road portions; the author prohibits riding through the holy-spring grounds, and a permitted prepared bypass is unconfirmed. Dog rules, reception and overnight locations are unestablished.

Nearby

Sosnovka’s Intercession Church and Gorodna village’s St Nicholas Church require independent visits. The riffle at the former low Osetr bridge lies separately from the present road crossing. Glades does not include Kolomna Kremlin or Golutvin Station. Fishing places and historical woodland-rest descriptions do not establish camping or fire permission. A linked Ozyory–Kolomna hike needs a different prepared variant with its own passages, conditions and duration.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
For the churchyard-to-Ozyory outing, separately prepare Rostislavl-side arrival and departure at the bridge’s southern end. A physical bus stop exists there; check present services and the required bank. Returning to Ozyory may require a separately permitted pontoon crossing whose operation needs advance checks. The Kolomna-side outing begins at Glades bus stop: check a present Golutvin arrival and return arrangements. Berkhino and Gorodna provide separate approach directions with confirmed services. Field and woodland endings are not bus stops; a current combined transport plan for every outing is unestablished.
By car
Choose separate permitted road points for each day on the Sosnovka, Berkhino, Gorodna or Glades side. Independently check the Rostislavl churchyard approach and woodland-ending collection: a walking passage does not establish vehicle access. Prepare a separate return to any vehicle left behind. Check pontoon operation and the correct Ozyory bank before travel. Driving bank-side paths, the fortified site or spring grounds is unestablished.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Arrange permitted vehicle storage separately for each outing on its selected road side. A memorial cross, fortified site, bus stop or spring does not establish parking. Do not assume space beside village fences or river paths is available; keep visitor approaches and residents’ roads clear. Leaving a vehicle between separate days also requires advance arrangements.

What to expect

Places
Oka River’s Right Bank the riverside setting of the Rostislavl and rural outings, alternating floodplain-side passages and higher bank approaches.
Former Rostislavl Churchyard Memorial Cross a pause at the former churchyard, included in the beginning towards Ozyory. Assess slope and vegetation for a safe approach.
Rostislavl Ryazansky Fortified Site medieval town remains with earthworks on the separate Rostislavl outing. Observe from permitted paths outside excavations.
Osetr River at the Berkhino Road Crossing the river beyond the spring on the Kolomna-side outing, crossed by the present bridge.
St Nicholas Spring near Gorodna a spring and immersion pool on the outing from Glades towards Berkhino. Check visiting arrangements, pool entry and drinking-water quality separately.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 275 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски The Rostislavl side has steep descents, sideways slopes and hogweed. The author’s old steel cable is not certified protection. Approach the cross and fortified site only by permitted safe paths outside excavations, avoiding vegetation contact. Reassess field ditches and uneven woodland after rain; wet clay particularly complicates cycling. On the Kolomna-side outing, check passages beside Gorodna’s garden fences and avoid closed side territories. Watch for vehicles on Berkhino’s bridge and road. Do not use the former low bridge as a crossing. Each outing requires confirmed arrival, permitted continuation and independent return; never assume a missing connection between outings.

How much time to allow

Расчётное время в пути 11 h 20 min

Time for the route | Unestablished With stops | Unestablished Exploring all these places can be prepared as several days of separate outings. The day-by-day arrangement, individual durations and permitted overnight locations are unestablished. The author’s 2–3 days apply to a different continuous Ozyory–Kolomna variant and are not transferred here. Allow separately for churchyard or fortified-site arrival, spring visiting arrangements, road-side collection and departure. Continuing to the kremlin or Golutvin Station is excluded.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry snow-free conditions for individual walks with bank-side approaches checked beforehand. Rain requires renewed steep-slope and ditch assessment, while wet clay can prevent cycling. High water changes bank conditions and access to Ozyory’s pontoon side. Warm-season tall vegetation and hogweed require attention near Rostislavl. Leave daylight for the selected ending and return; winter access to every outing is unconfirmed.

What to bring
