Route description

Leave Rzhavki’s 1st Microdistrict behind and follow a short woodland path towards Mendeleevo. A small Shkolnoye lake lies beside the southern part of the walk, bringing a quiet patch of water into the trees. Pause near the lake before continuing north along the forest paths. The outing ends by the road on the Mendeleevo side. It works well as a brief escape outdoors or a walk between the two settlements, with the connections from bus stops planned separately. Returning along the same path adds a separate walk. On a damp day, footwear for wet soil will be more useful than shoes intended only for town pavements.

Nearby

This walk concerns the forest between Rzhavki and Mendeleevo. Zelenograd’s Shkolnoye lake and urban beach lie elsewhere and require a separate trip. The longer Zelenograd–Mendeleevo route continues through other woodland areas; its memorials and distant branches are outside this short outing. Look to the settlements on either side for shopping and your bus return.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
For travel from Moscow, look for bus 1350 from Khovrino metro towards Mendeleevo; it replaced the former 350 in April 2026. Walking connections are needed between the selected stops and the forest path at Rzhavki and Mendeleevo. Check the current stop pattern, services for your date and return journey before leaving. The bus does not serve every woodland junction.
By car
Approach residential Rzhavki from the Leningrad Highway, then walk to the southern departure. The northern exit lies towards Mendeleevo. If your vehicle stays in Rzhavki, arrange your return beforehand because this walk finishes at the other end of the forest path. Plan no motor access along the pedestrian ways.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Verified sources do not establish visitor parking immediately beside the southern departure. Select a permitted place in residential Rzhavki, checking signs and local restrictions and keeping courtyard entrances clear. Returning to the vehicle needs its own journey plan.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 12 м.
SurfaceDirt 42%, Unknown 58%.
Риски Some mapped paths have an earth surface. Rain and thaws can leave wet soil and slippery patches; improvements to an ecological trail in this area do not guarantee uniform surfacing throughout this particular walk. Take care when reaching the road at the northern exit. Keep children together at junctions and near the water.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 38 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow for a short daylight outing with a pause near the lake. A verified duration for this particular walk is not established. Add the walking approach from the bus and your return or onward connection separately. If returning through the forest, allow for another walk along the path.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose a day without heavy rain, allowing earth paths to dry. In autumn, set off in daylight and consider earlier dusk. During frost or thaws, check for ice at the road exits. Regular winter clearance of the entire path is unconfirmed.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Footwear for earth woodland paths
Water and a small snack
Clothing for the weather and rain protection
A map showing both forest exits
