Route description

This ski circuit leaves the familiar city side of Ershovsky Bay for a longer passage from Yubileyny across a wooded ridge to Melnichnaya Pad and the outskirts of Novogrudinina. Woodland repeatedly gives way to open water areas, followed by village houses and roads. After the southern continuation, the course rounds the village side and turns toward home near Tobsky Bay. The return reaches Melnichnaya Pad again, then the forest slope and Ershovsky Bay. Choose it to explore different sides of Irkutsk Reservoir during a substantial skiing day. Bay shapes, changing wind in the open and woodland pauses give the outing its character. The full circuit includes water crossings. Plan it after current confirmation of permitted safe ice access, usable shore exits and passage near village buildings. Until those conditions are confirmed, choose a separate checked land outing; the bays do not become summer walking paths.

The Yubileyny beginning and return allow city arrival without a car. This long circuit combines forest slopes, village sections and several water crossings. Prepare it only after checking present permitted ice access, every shore exit and passage near buildings. Confident skiing, navigation and an energy reserve are needed. A bicycle or stroller is unsuitable for this winter variant; dog rules and mobile coverage are unknown.

Nearby

Kartakoy Bay and accommodation of that name are separate destinations in this area. The older author’s title does not establish a present resort visit or prove that its bay is Tobsky Bay; prepare such visits independently. Moon Clearing, the tip of Cape Zybun and a start at the hydroelectric dam also need separate approach checks. Archaeological and religious places at Novogrudinina are outside the confirmed visits on this outing. Rentals, heated premises and operating food points throughout the circuit are unconfirmed.

Without a car
The city beginning is on the Yubileyny microdistrict side of Irkutsk. Prepare arrival using present bus services. A Yubileyny Microdistrict stop is confirmed near the starting area; check service numbers, times and the approach to the forest separately. The outing returns to the same district. Melnichnaya Pad and Novogrudinina are not pre-verified emergency transport exits: establish local services, approaches and departure times before travelling.
By car
For car arrival, choose city road access to Yubileyny and agree permitted drop-off and vehicle storage beforehand. The outing returns to the same side of the city, but nearby buildings do not guarantee parking. Forest and village sections cross roads; these require attentive passage rather than car support throughout the ski circuit. Driving onto ice and vehicle access through the entire course are unconfirmed.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. No area at the beginning has been verified for leaving a vehicle throughout this long skiing day. Check permitted parking beforehand or arrive by city transport. Keep entrances, building approaches and the forest exit clear; private property and garden-community roads require agreement for vehicle storage.

Defer the full circuit if access is prohibited, ice strength is unconfirmed, cracks or open water occur, or a shore exit is unavailable. Forest slopes require braking and careful junction choices: a used line may lead to another bay or private property. Cross roads near Melnichnaya Pad and Novogrudinina at safe permitted locations. Do not bypass closed yards or fences through private land. On open water areas, account for wind, drifting snow and remaining energy. Older accounts of a regularly used ski course do not establish present preparation.
