Route description

This ski passage starts already in the wooded upper Bolshaya Polovinnaya area. Long woodland directions lead into the Marituy valley, reach the coastal village and then continue over Baikal’s ice side towards Kolokolny. Taiga and the cleared forest line give way to open lake space. The ending lies over the lake rather than at a railway platform: establish a safe shore exit and transport separately beforehand. Departure access, current ski conditions and admission for the new winter season are unconfirmed on 12 October 2026. The park suspended tourist access to the Circum-Baikal Railway area because of bears in August; running trains do not establish forest or ice-passage reopening.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data For experienced ski tourists with checked forest passage, ice accompaniment and agreed exits. Marituy is an intermediate coastal area rather than the exact ending. Ordinary family-walk suitability is unconfirmed.

Nearby

Kirkirey tunnels, the historic railway joining site and other engineering structures lie on the shore beyond the ice continuation. Viewing needs separate authorised approaches. Orlyonok lies outside the opening woodland section; an ordinary rock-formation outing excludes this passage.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Verified sources establish no exact public access to the woodland departure. The operator’s own timetable confirms Circum-Baikal trains stopping at Marituy, Marituyka Stream and Kolokolny, but these serve separate shore approaches. Check services for the future winter date, authorised ice exit and access to the selected stop beforehand; the actual ending does not reach a platform.
By car
Authorised road access to the exact woodland departure is unconfirmed. Arrange departure delivery and final collection independently after checking the complete plan. Forest ski passages and lake ice are not assumed to provide authorised vehicle access.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Agree vehicle storage at an independently chosen lower approach. The woodland departure and ice-surface ending have no confirmed public vehicle parking.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Forest-line conditions, fallen trees and snowmobile passage change; the author’s cleared-route description refers to a historical outing and does not establish current ski preparation. The ice continuation needs separate examination of cracks, water, wind and safe exit. Do not substitute travel along railway lines or through tunnels. Park restrictions and railway operation are checked independently.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 6 h 10 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
This variant’s complete duration is unconfirmed. A one-day plan requires agreement of the forest approach, ice continuation and shore-side exit. The author’s hours for a separate prepared forest section exclude the complete outing; arrange an agreed fallback plan and final transport beforehand.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Only with confirmed ski passage and examined authorised ice. Woodland travel needs established snow; lake travel needs independent confirmation of current conditions. Historical winter passage does not establish safe departure in a new season. Avoid applying this plan during ice formation or breakup.
