Route description

This version begins in the Blue Lakes mountain cirque and descends towards Moroznaya’s wooded side. The mountain lakes lie nearby at first, before the path leaves for the Polovinka valley and continues through woodland. It finishes beside the base’s lower road side, where a meeting can be arranged beforehand. The outing works as a planned exit from the mountain cirque, with changing open highland and birch-forest scenery as its main experience. Reaching the lake start requires a separate agreed approach; this version covers only the onward descent.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - With caution With a dog - No data By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - Patchy Suitable for prepared walkers who have already arranged access to the lake start. Children need confidence on a lengthy mountain descent and water crossings under adult supervision. Confirm visiting conditions with dogs separately. Occasional reception does not guarantee calls throughout the walk.

Nearby

The separate higher Blue Lakes viewpoint and a circuit of every lake are outside this descent. Mount Kozya rises above the cirque, with its summit requiring another ascent. The hydrological post and old camp appear in the wider guide as woodland landmarks; visitor services, meals and accommodation are unconfirmed. Moroznaya’s seasonal New Year shuttle does not establish summer transport.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Base transport plans on the woodland finish at Moroznaya, arranging a taxi to Yelizovo bus station. The regional portal identifies buses 102 and 104 for the city hub; check departures for your particular day. This transport does not reach the initial Blue Lakes side, which needs a separate planned mountain approach.
By car
A vehicle can be left beforehand on an agreed Moroznaya road side for collection after the descent. Direct permitted driving to the initial lake cirque is unconfirmed. Discuss the separate approach to the start and a suitable meeting time below with your receiving party. The resort lift is not established transport to the Blue Lakes.
Parking
The regional portal describes parking at the Moroznaya base as free. Confirm the current area, permission to leave the vehicle until your return and grounds access beforehand. The woodland finish differs from individual parking rows; include the remaining walk to the car separately. Parking at the lake start is unconfirmed.

What to expect

Places
Blue Lakes mountain cirque The initial mountain side of the descent, just above the lake shore. Pause to view the cirque before leaving for the valley; a circuit of every lake and the separate higher lookout are not included.
Polovinka River crossing The named watercourse on the mountain-valley exit side. Assess the crossing locally; published bridges in the area do not establish a safe current bridge at this exact point.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 567 м.
SurfaceDirt 3%, Unknown 97%.
Риски Snow can remain on the initial mountain sections, followed by rocky sides and water crossings. At the Polovinka River, assess water conditions and the existing passage: a safe bridge at this exact point is unconfirmed. Steps and small bridges described in the wider guide may need repair. A long descent tires the legs, so choose a pace that preserves attention on wet woodland ground.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 4 h 45 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Treat this line as a daytime part of a wider outing, with the approach to its start calculated separately. Complete journey duration is unconfirmed. Allow lake time before descending, then pauses at safe woodland stopping points and a reserve for water crossings. Arrange the Moroznaya meeting for a potentially slow descent; no established overnight plan is provided.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
The published walking season is June–September, subject to protected-area opening. Check snow conditions particularly carefully in early summer. October access, autumn ice and a winter descent need separate assessment, as the summer card does not confirm them. Obtain permission for the lake side before your separate approach to the start.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Footwear for rock, snow and wet woodland, with poles for a lengthy descent.
Water and food for the entire approach and onward exit; safe water is not assured in every stream.
Wind and rain protection, light, first aid and spare power.
A map of the lake start, Polovinka valley and chosen woodland exit.
Permission for the protected lake area and a prearranged Moroznaya meeting.
