Route description

Leaving Iogach, the itinerary heads into the forest west of Lake Teletskoye towards Balykcha. This is a substantial horse trek: the lakeside village falls behind and the Iogach, Pyzha, Bolshiye Chili and Aba rivers become the main landmarks. Their names gradually form a story of the western Teletskoye country, with wooded riding between waterside pauses and experiences accumulating over several days. This version ends beside the Achelman River in the mountains west of Balykcha. Choose it for a longer journey away from ordinary tourist roads, with a local guide and well-planned horse support. Each river offers a reason to pause, but crossings and resting places must be chosen for current conditions. Arrange onward travel towards a settlement and your eventual return in advance.
