Route description

The Sukhanov paths bring you towards the glacial side of Aktru while leaving time for Lake Sachki and the Galina Afanasyeva Memorial. The memorial lends the valley a human history, the lake invites a quieter pause, and farther on Maly Aktru draws the eye. This outing explores the alpine camp surroundings and the approach to the glacier tongue without climbing the surrounding summits. The waterfall below the Dome of Three Lakes gives you another reason to linger on the moraine. Its appearance varies with the season: sometimes water and sound dominate, sometimes stones and the open valley. Bolshaya Aktru brings attention back to the river. Agree which sections to link and how to return with the camp before setting off; the name “loop” does not replace choosing a continuous walking itinerary.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 388 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Place your feet carefully on moraine stones, which can move or become slippery after rain. Cross the bridge individually and accompany children. Check river crossings and stream conditions before leaving. Stay off the glacier and away from overhanging ice; its edge changes, so ask a local guide about a safe stopping boundary.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 2 h 2 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Sachki and glacier approach | Keep half a day with a margin Choose the order of the sections with an instructor and start without rushing. Give the lake and memorial their own pauses before the more careful stony walking. Allow ample return time from the farther approach, accounting for streams and weather.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Summer and early autumn days with good visibility and dry paths suit the outing best. Snow, rain and freezing conditions alter the stony sections. The waterfall can weaken or dry up, so flowing water is not guaranteed.
