Route description

This RuTrail option begins the ascent of Peak of Love in Arshan’s resort park. Pause beside the Medicine Buddha and the old larch before leaving the avenues for the mountain path. The transition from village to hillside is part of the appeal: familiar surroundings fall behind as woodland and openings above the valley take their place. There are opportunities along the path to catch your breath and look back towards Arshan. On a clear day, the widening outlook becomes as memorable as the destination. At Peak of Love, the mountains invite a longer pause, though the return journey still deserves time and energy. The ascent finishes at the summit, and RuTrail suggests descending the same way. This is a close variant of the main approach from the park, without a traverse of neighbouring peaks. It makes a rewarding introduction to the mountains above Arshan for walkers ready for a sustained climb and descent.

The First Waterfall on the Kyngarga belongs to another outing from Arshan and is not visited on this ascent. Other park sculptures and approaches to mineral springs can be explored separately before or after the mountain day. Druzhba and Arshan peaks are independent mountain objectives requiring their own plans.

Without a car
Plan a bus or minibus journey from Irkutsk to Arshan. Confirm timetables and the drop-off with the operator. Arshan Bus Ticket Office Stop is separate from the park start, so allow a walking approach. Arriving the previous day makes an early ascent easier; leave ample time before a return departure.
By car
The road journey ends in Arshan by the resort park. Walk from a permitted drop-off point to the beginning of the ascent. Do not arrange car collection at the summit: returning to the village requires a descent.
Parking
A paid parking area is mapped near the park approach. Before leaving, confirm opening, charges and permission for a longer stay. Keep cars off park avenues and mountain paths. Include the walk back to your vehicle in the day’s plan.
