Route description

Starting at Lower Kolsay, the walk crosses the mountain country between two gorges to Lake Kaindy. At Kolsay, woodland forms a dense frame around the water; at Kaindy, pale drowned spruce trunks emerge from the lake itself. These contrasting scenes give the crossing purpose without extra summits or distant detours. Familiar excursion stops become the bookends of an independent mountain day, with pickup arranged in advance.

Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1495 м.
SurfaceDirt 76%, Artificial surface 10%, Compacted dirt 7%.
Риски The mapped route recommendation calls for mountain walking experience and preferably a guide. Facilities beside the first lake do not extend through the mountain crossing. Check weather, crossing conditions and departure time; postpone after heavy rain.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 9–12 h
With stops | 1–2 days A single-day crossing needs an early start, settled weather and good fitness. A slower overnight version needs an authorised campsite and appropriate equipment.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Summer and early autumn offer the most practical planning window in dry, settled weather. An open excursion road to the lakes does not guarantee a safe winter crossing or passage after fresh snow.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Bring footwear for mountain paths, wind and rain protection, drinking water and food for a long walking day.
If camping, agree the site and carry a complete overnight kit.
A printed or offline map and backup power reduce dependence on signal.
