Route description

This outing in Kegety’s side gorge continues beyond the first view of Köl-Tör. The path passes through woodland, climbs steeper slopes and reaches the lake’s western side. Its water may appear turquoise or pale blue; the contrast with rock and changing sky makes a rewarding pause before the next part of the walk. The outing then continues into the upper valley, leaving the familiar lake-side resting area behind. That extension changes the character of the day: reserve energy and be confident about the whole return. The ending lies in the mountains, away from the vehicle road. Include the descending return and lower access independently; Kegety Waterfall belongs to another gorge branch.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 901 м.
SurfaceDirt 50%, Unknown 50%.
Риски Steep climbs and a long descending return need experience and stamina. Beyond the woodland, wet stones, snow and ice are possible; avoid slippery water edges. Do not turn the upper continuation into an unplanned pass crossing. Fatigue, worsening weather or losing a visible way are reasons to turn back before the ending.

How much time to allow

Time for the route | Unestablished With stops | Unestablished The complete upper version has no confirmed duration. Plan a full mountain day with an early beginning, a separate lake pause and a reserve for returning from the upper valley. Ordinary timings for the lake ascent alone do not determine this schedule.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose summer conditions with a snow-free path for an ordinary hike; the local author particularly recommends July and August. Check upper snow at either end of the season. Autumn cold arrives earlier here than in Bishkek, and shaded ground may retain ice.
