Route description

Progonny, Perevalny, Petrosyants I and Big Issyk-Ata make this proposal a journey through the icy high ground of the Kyrgyz Range. Its early section reaches East Alamedin and Issyk-Ata passes, where ordinary valley walking gives way to snow, rocky slopes and glaciers. Another mountain branch approaches Big Issyk-Ata and the Lesgaft area, while the selected ending lies lower in the Alamedin valley. This remains a preliminary plan comprising several sections. A continuous safe passage between them is unconfirmed: before departure, the leader must establish real links, the approach to the high beginning and the exit sequence. Careful movement is essential to appreciating the glacier basins themselves. This outing cannot be treated as a day walk from Issyk-Ata resort; separate neighbouring summit ascents are also outside its confirmed visits.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 2523 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Do not attempt the complete outing before establishing all linking passages. Hidden crevasses, hard snow, falling rock and rope protection are relevant hazards. The Lesgaft-side branch needs particularly serious technical assessment: published crossings involve rock and complex ice. Historic reports do not establish present snow bridges, anchors or river crossings. Prepare acclimatization, a weather reserve and emergency descents before travelling.

Time for the route | Unestablished With stops | Unestablished This is a preliminary multi-day mountain outing. A day-by-day plan is not established. Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose a summer mountain window after checking every glacier and pass. Deep snow and hidden crevasses are possible even in July. Reconsider plans with the leader after snowfall, during thaw or in poor visibility; lower-gorge access does not establish upper-passage access.

Complete mountain camping equipment, warm layers and waterproofs.
Crampons, ice axe, helmet, harness, ropes and protection equipment under the leader’s technical plan.
