Route description

From Mezmay’s surroundings, the woodland path reaches two different waterfall settings. Chinarsky lies beside an overhanging rock ledge, with the stone surroundings amplifying its sound. Universitetsky falls in Gorelaya Balka among large boulders; pause clear of the flow and notice how the water separates across its ledges. This outing joins both cascades and returns along familiar woodland approaches, including several repeated passages. Mezmay belongs to Krasnodar Krai’s Apsheronsky District. Take your time near the falls: their character is easier to appreciate from firm ground than a wet stone beside the flow.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 690 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски The water approaches descend over sloping stones and roots; inspect any steps, cables and crossings locally. Wet ledges are particularly hazardous after rain. Keep clear of unstable overhangs and avoid jumping into pools of unknown depth. Postpone in high water or ice. Universitetsky is a natural monument: respect rocks, plants and visitor signs.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 6 h 11 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow roughly six to eight hours for both falls, repeated woodland passages and the return. The trekking club publishes seven to eight hours for its similar-size Mezmay outing, but this version’s specific branches need separate assessment. Start in the morning and retain a margin for careful descents and return climbs.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
A dry, snow-free day with moderate water is preferable. The trekking club generally recommends May–November, but autumn rain, early snow and ice can make approaches unsafe. Strong spring flow can be admired from safe paths without assuming access to every ledge.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Grippy footwear and poles.
Drinking water, full-day food and rubbish bag.
Rain protection, warm layer and spare dry socks.
