Route description

The Archamaydon valley leads out of the inner Fann Mountains towards the inhabited valley near Ghazza. At the Sarmad end, the journey still feels closely connected to the mountains. Farther downstream, side streams and cultivated ground become part of the scene. It is a good place to notice the work that keeps fields, gardens and small farms alive among stony slopes. Take time over the bends in the river and the mouths of the side valleys. This walk makes a thoughtful ending to a longer Fann journey: the mountains gradually open out, while the sound of the Archamaydon stays beside you.
