Route description

The path rises from Czarny Staw towards a rocky threshold above Zmarzły Staw. The larger lake gradually falls below you while the slopes and rock shelves of the upper valley draw closer. This transition reveals two levels of the glacial landscape: first walking beside the water, then looking down towards its surface. The section ends at a mountain junction before the separate approach to Zmarzły Staw. Choose your return in advance, since the signs beyond this point lead into different high mountain directions.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 191 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Sure footing on rocks and a timely turnaround matter most. Wet stones and lingering snow increase the risk. TPN’s October bulletin reports hard snow and ice on high trails; avoid continuing to Zawrat or Orla Perć without the necessary experience and equipment. Swimming and unauthorised camping are prohibited.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 45 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow roughly 30–50 minutes from the shore junction to the upper endpoint, and a similar allowance for descending with extra time on slippery rocks. Including the approach from Kuźnice through Murowaniec and the return, plan approximately seven to nine hours for the day. This editorial recommendation excludes Zawrat and the Orla Perć ridge.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose stable, dry weather during the snow-free summer period. Snow in the upper cirque and shaded places can remain despite warm weather in town. An autumn outing needs a fresh assessment of the path and your equipment.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Footwear for rocky mountain paths.
Water and food for the entire lower approach.
Warm layer, waterproof clothing and appropriate gloves.
