Route description

From the road area opposite Tre Sassi Fort, the Kaiserjäger path climbs to the upper ridge of Piccolo Lagazuoi. Austro-Hungarian shelters appear on the lower approach before the path reaches a suspension bridge and equipped rocky ledges. First World War history is present in the mountain connections once used to supply positions above Valparola Pass. The selected ascent ends on the upper ridge, including short branches and return sections. Plan the hut, cable-car approach and return to the vehicle separately.

Nearby

The Tre Sassi interior museum is a separate visit. Lagazuoi Hut, the upper cable-car station, Anticima Tunnel, Cengia Martini and neighbouring museum areas require additional approaches. The Austrian cave and ridge memorial are likewise beyond the places confirmed on this ascent. Check visiting conditions for each destination.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Plan road arrival at Valparola Pass after checking current services from Val Badia or Cortina. The operator describes a bus approach, but the travel-day timetable is not established here. A separate walking exit or arranged transport from Falzarego is needed after the upper ridge. The cable car does not take you directly to the fort departure.
By car
Reach Valparola and the road departure opposite Tre Sassi Fort. Your vehicle remains at the lower approach, so establish an authorised mountain return beforehand. The cable-car descent ends at Falzarego and needs an additional connection to Valparola. Account for weather and pass-road conditions.
Parking
Parking by Tre Sassi Fort is the road departure described by the operator. Confirm current charges, availability and longer-stay rules on arrival. Keep the road and museum approach clear. Include the full upper exit and return in your plan.

Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 670 м.
SurfaceGravel 92%, Dirt 1%.
Риски The suspension bridge, narrow ledges and equipped sections require confident balance and proper protection. Bring a helmet, harness and via ferrata set, together with the skills to use them. Children need preparation and competent supervision. Postpone in snow, ice, thunderstorms or on wet rock. Avoid unassessed historical tunnels.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 2 h 1 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow an estimated 2–3 hours for the selected ascent, short branches and pauses. Add the upper-station approach, hut visit and return separately. Lagazuoi’s 2026 cable-car season is announced through 18 October, subject to current conditions. A missed final descent does not provide automatic transport down.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Prefer snow-free conditions, dry rock and settled weather. The high ridge can become wintry before the lower road. Check autumn snow, ice and daylight reserves. Cable-car operation does not establish safe conditions on the equipped ascent.
