Route description

From Palla, Teriol Ladin climbs onto paths around Col di Lana, crosses Sief Pass and reaches the Montucolo historical mounds on the southern passage. The wooded departure gives way to open slopes where First World War history is connected with particular positions and terrain. This walk circles the mountain without reaching its main summit. Several return passages extend the selected variation, which finishes back above the lower road approach. Leave time to explore local history and observe the slopes unhurriedly.

Nearby

Col di Lana, Sief and Dente del Sief summits, plus Brigata Alpina Cadore bivouac, require additional mountain approaches. Visit other monuments, shelter remains and galleries only with confirmed access. The lower Pieve–Palla–Agai walk has a simpler character and suits a separate village outing.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Regular transport directly to the selected Palla departure is unconfirmed. Arrange local arrival and return from the lower road area before a car-free visit. The approach from Pieve di Livinallongo adds to the selected mountain passage. Timing for the short family walk between villages does not cover this outing.
By car
Take the local paved road uphill from Pieve di Livinallongo towards Palla. The road area by the Teriol Ladin sign lies before the approach ends. The selected outing starts on a local connection above and finishes back near the lower approach. Check road conditions and local signs after bad weather.
Parking
Parking at the Teriol Ladin Sign in Palla is described in the official local tourism listing. Check current rules, charges and available spaces on arrival. Keep village accesses and walking connections clear. Allow for short separate approaches between the vehicle and the selected departure and finish.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 756 м.
SurfaceImproved surface 34%, Dirt 23%, Artificial surface 15%, Unknown 16%.
Риски The initial ascent and uneven mountain paths require stamina and stable footwear. Watch junctions to avoid unintended summit branches. Historical shelters and galleries are not automatically safe for entry. Children need experience of longer walks; keep dogs under control near grazing areas and other visitors.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 4 h 7 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow an estimated 5–7 hours for the selected passage, return sections and historical pauses. This is a substantial-day estimate for dry, snow-free paths. Additional Col di Lana or Sief ascents, gallery approaches and the lower road from Pieve are separate. Start in the morning with daylight in reserve for the descent.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Prefer summer and dry early autumn when the mountain paths are snow-free. Rain can make ground and stones slippery, while fog obscures historical branches. Winter needs a different walking plan and assessment of snow conditions.
