Route description

The crossing begins at the Arztalalm farm side and rises towards Überfallgründl, dividing two different valley sides. Summer pastures and working alpine buildings introduce the outing; higher up, the mountain path and open slope take over. Beyond the named crossing area, this extended version heads towards Profeglalm, retraces part of the familiar direction and continues west again towards Viggartal. These repeated passages are a substantial part of the day. At Profeglalm, observe how farming persists above the lower villages without entering working yards. The finish is at Viggar Niederleger, with Meissner House and lower Mühltal reached independently afterwards. The ordinary short hut-to-hut allowance does not apply to this version.

Bus 560 to Gattinger is confirmed for lower Arztal arrival, followed by an independent Arztalalm approach. The regional author names Mühltal on the same line for the lower Viggar exit. Check current departures and the separately confirmed descent from the upper finish; the bus does not collect at Viggar Niederleger.
By car
Arrange lower arrival through Ellbögen to Hinterlarcher and a separate Arztal approach. The upper road includes private access; a road to a farm does not authorize driving the complete crossing. Retrieve the car after the Viggar-side finish under an independent agreed plan.
Parking
The regional author confirms lower Hinterlarcher parking before the Arztal approach. Check current terms and storage for the complete lengthy outing. Parking at Profeglalm, Überfallgründl or the upper Viggar finish is unestablished.
