Route description

This large hiking programme begins on the Scharnitz side and repeatedly follows extended Karwendel directions. Central passages cross Hochalmsattel towards Falkenhütte and the Eng side. A southern branch approaches Lamsenjochhütte and visits Hahnkampl summit; the northwestern direction includes Hochlandhütte and Wörnersattel. The eastern side crosses Plumssattel and Satteljoch summit, while further valley passages reach the Pertisau side. Some long passages repeat in both directions, making this an extended independent programme. Its ending lies east of the opening Scharnitz side. Exterior hut approaches provide no established accommodation or food service: the listed 2026 summer seasons at Falkenhütte, Lamsenjochhütte and Hochlandhütte ended in early October.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Explore contrasting Karwendel areas on an independently arranged extended outing. Actual passes, two visited summits and the exteriors of established alpine huts provide varied mountain pauses; repeated distant branches need carefully selected independent days.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Long mountain-walking experience, sure footing and independent logistics are needed. Scharnitz offers a railway approach, but it does not provide exits from every distant passage.

Nearby

Karwendelhaus needs an additional approach from the central passage. Lamsenspitze and Brudertunnel are also outside this line; the Lamsenjochhütte owner reports path 226 closed between Zwerchbachbrücke and Brudertunnel, so an independent continuation needs checks. Museum and hut interiors are outside confirmed exterior pauses.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Scharnitz railway station serves the opening town side with an additional approach. Check current trains and the return from the eastern ending. Assess distant-valley public transport independently; current services connecting every branch are unconfirmed.
By car
Agree an authorised Scharnitz-side drop-off and final collection. Distant mountain branches provide no direct vehicle support. Intermediate valley collections and access require an independent plan.
Parking
Official parking at the exact departure is unconfirmed. Agree an authorised town space and absence duration. Multi-day vehicle storage and the return after the eastern ending need separate arrangements.

Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 18006 м.
SurfaceGravel 29%, Fine gravel 19%, Asphalt 10%, Unknown 30%.
Риски Sustained effort and repeated distant passages require energy, water and preselected endings. Allow for wind, loose ground and remaining snow at mountain passes. Fog complicates branch navigation. Hut food service and accommodation provide no guaranteed support after seasonal closure.

Select independent days and confirmed accommodation after assessing every repeated direction. A day-by-day plan for the multi-day programme is not established. The complete duration is unconfirmed; the standard four-day Karwendeltour does not replace this extended variant.
