Route description

This extended transition leads from Scharnitz’s lower side towards Gleirschklamm Gorge, then past the Möslalm side to Pfeishütte. Beyond the hut it reaches Stempeljoch pass and descends towards Halltal, ending before that valley’s lower car park. Two specific Karwendelbach and Isar gorge viewpoints are visited on the opening side. Some approaches repeat, so the full journey differs from a standard direct valley transition. The gorge needs sure footing, while the Stempeljoch descent follows a steep scree side. Pfeishütte provides a confirmed exterior view; its 2026 summer season ended on 4 October. Arrange food, accommodation and exits independently.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 3195 м.
SurfaceCompacted dirt 31%, Asphalt 9%, Gravel 7%, Unknown 49%.
Риски Gleirschklamm’s narrow path and walkways are partly exposed above water. The steep Stempeljoch scree-side descent needs secure footing; hard snowfields may remain in early summer. Fog and bad weather complicate long repeated directions. Pfeishütte food service is unavailable after its seasonal closure unless independently confirmed.
