Route description

This mountain outing links the southern Gleirschklamm approach, the narrow waterside path and western forest directions towards Scharnitzer Alm. Three specific viewpoints stand on the further side: Gleirschklamm-Blick, Karwendelklamm-Blick and Isarschlucht-Blick. They offer different river-landscape perspectives, while the Scharnitzer Alm building adds an exterior alpine pause. The departure lies on the remote southern side, and the ending stands beside the northern gorge exit. Some passages repeat; this is no complete circuit from a railway station. Arrange your approach and return independently. The nature park rates the gorge path as difficult, with narrow sections exposed above the water. Scharnitzer Alm food service is seasonal; its current listing shows closure.
