Route description

Beside Kleine Scheidegg, the outing turns towards the summer face of the famous Lauberhorn race. Walking observation and time for details replace winter speed. Pause outside the actual starting house to imagine the beginning of the downhill race; interpretation boards reveal the competition as the history of a particular mountain slope. The way then heads gradually towards Allmend, alternating open ground with lower bends. This version returns along some already visited paths, making it longer than an ordinary direct descent. In clear weather, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau stand out in the mountain surroundings. The ending lies on the Allmend-side footpath: add the separate railway-platform approach to your plan. Check the current diversion beforehand, as the official route page flags restrictions.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
When trains operate, connect arrival and departure by rail with separate platform approaches. Children need to manage the expanded passage and steep ground. Cycling permission, dog rules and reception are unknown; the mountain path is unsuitable for a stroller.

Nearby

Lauberhorn summit needs a separate ascent. Kleine Scheidegg restaurants belong to the station approach and are additional visits. Add an onward Wengen descent or other race sections only after checking the chosen continuation.
