Route description

From Fafleralp the walk heads up the Lonza valley into the mountains of the upper Lötschental. Cross Innere Talbach near the start, meet the Lonza and continue uphill on walking paths. The river appears again higher in the valley; the selected walk then ends on the approach in the Jegi Bach area. This is a separate outing among mountain watercourses, with a return to arrange beforehand. Anenhütte and the lakes on the neighbouring larger circuit require additional walking.

Choose this outing to explore the upper Lötschental without assuming it reaches a glacier or mountain hut. A clear day leaves time to enjoy the permitted river crossings.

Grundsee and Guggisee lie outside the selected passage and need separate approaches. Anenhütte is also beyond the endpoint. Its separate property listing currently says it is unstaffed, so meals and overnight accommodation cannot be assumed. Check actual conditions before planning an extension to the hut or glacial surroundings.
