Route description

The Schynige Platte panorama hotel starts a walk centred on attentive observation. The mountain path heads to Daube, also known as Tuba: in clear weather, Bernese Alpine peaks and Lake Brienz far below fill the view. The continuation follows the panorama-ridge side and returns to the same mountain setting. Some passages are repeated in this version, suiting a more unhurried day than the usual short circuit. Summer meadows invite frequent pauses, but observe their plants from the path. Finish beside the hotel with the broad view that began the outing; meals require a separate check. Oberberghorn and Gumihorn summits and the botanical garden lie outside the selected passage.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
When the mountain railway operates, the outing is accessible without a car. Children need stamina and confident footing on open mountain paths, especially with repeated passages. A bicycle or stroller is unsuitable; dog rules and continuous reception are unknown.

Nearby

The Alpengarten botanical garden needs a separate approach and viewing time. Oberberghorn and Gumihorn are outside this circuit. The railway museum and other station offers are additional visits; check hotel meal service separately.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Jungfraubahnen lists the Wilderswil–Schynige Platte railway. Add the short mountain-station approach to the hotel-side start; the circuit returns there. Published 2026 offers cover 13 June–25 October, but check the actual services and final descending train before walking.
By car
Arrive at lower Wilderswil and change to mountain rail. Car access to the panorama hotel or along the selected mountain paths is unconfirmed.
Parking
Wilderswil Park+Ride lies beside the lower station. The operator’s current rates are CHF 3 up to three hours, CHF 10 for three–twelve hours and CHF 5 per additional twelve hours. Arrange and pay for mountain rail separately; a parking space is not guaranteed.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 627 м.
SurfaceGravel 17%, Asphalt 1%, Artificial surface 1%, Unknown 81%.
Риски Keep steady footing beside open slopes, especially on wet ground or in strong wind. Repeated passages add effort compared with the ordinary panorama circuit. Do not leave for an extra summit without a checked continuation. Confirm path conditions and leave enough time before the final train.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 3–4 h
With stops | 4–5 h This editorial allowance covers the expanded circuit with repeated passages. The ordinary two-and-a-half-hour panorama plan was not applied. Rail travel and a separate meal are additional.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
A clear, snow-free day in the mountain summer season is preferable. Fog hides the panorama, while rain and wind worsen passage. Check early autumn snow and railway operation; regional winter offers do not establish access to this circuit.

What to bring

Wind, rain and sun protection.
A mountain-junction map and checked final descending train.
