Route description

From Holzmatten, the high walking road heads east towards Rasthysi and Holewang. It follows the wooded side of the hillside, inviting an unhurried pace through changing shade and more open ground. At Abbach, water crosses beneath the road: a small woodland landmark rather than a place to ford. Further along, the Goodyear Protection Forest nature board offers a reason to pause and read about the local woodland. At Rasthysi, the setting opens out around a small mountain restaurant beside the road, familiar to high-level walkers. Check its operation beforehand if you hope to follow the woodland passage with a meal. Continue afterwards to Holewang and choose the next direction; the return to Holzmatten is outside this segment.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - With caution With a dog - No data By bike - No data With a stroller - Partially Mobile signal - No data The Holzmatten start needs a separate approach. After summer line 127 ends, do not rely on its former arrival. Children need confident mountain-road walking; a stroller may work only on isolated smooth portions. Cycling permission, dog rules and reception are unconfirmed.

Nearby

Holenwang viewpoint lies off the ending road. Bort, Bussalp and Bachalpsee need longer independent continuations. Check Rasthysi’s opening and meal service with the operator; the restaurant’s existence does not establish continuous kitchen service.
