Route description

The journey from Slyudyanka climbs through a wooded river valley towards Khamar-Daban’s open summits. The L-3504 locomotive monument stands near the town start; beyond it, attention shifts to forest, crossings and the gradual ascent above the trees. Via the First Bare Summit, the programme reaches the Second Bare Summit, where clear weather reveals Heart Lake’s basin. It finishes there after a short approach towards Chersky Peak and a return. The peak lies farther along the ridge: climbing it and descending to the lake are outside this programme. This variant makes the open summits a separate destination for the long ascent, preserving time and energy for your agreed return.
